Designed for a computer and other music making equipment, the desk needed to be quite big and manage a lot of cables in a tidy fashion. I attempted to make a classic looking framework in the style of an old school desk with robust joinery and then the desk top is made in box section for additional strength and to accommodate the cables, which are housed via walnut flaps at the back of the desk.
